Amnesty Press: Two human rights advocates from Viet Tan have gone missing in Cambodia

Two human rights advocates from pro-democracy party Viet Tan have gone missing in Cambodia, raising serious concerns of transnational repression in the region.
According to their family, Nguyen Duc Thuan, a Norwegian of Vietnamese background, and Tran Hiep, an Australian of Vietnamese background, disappeared in Phnom Penh after meeting Vietnamese activists.
For years, Viet Tan has been listed as a ''terrorist organization'' by Vietnamese authorities. Those linked with Viet Tan face prolonged sentences and harassment in Viet Nam.
Cambodian authorities must urgently determine their whereabouts and ensure their safety.
